L-G Saxena Criticizes Kejriwal and AAP Government for Neglecting Issues Faced by Delhi Residents

New Delhi, Dec 23 (NationPress) On a day when former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed appreciation to Delhi Lt Governor V.K. Saxena for bringing attention to civic issues in the Rangpuri Pahari area of south Delhi, the L-G unveiled his facade by cautioning him against attempting to take credit for the corrective actions mandated in the area by Raj Niwas.

In response to Saxena's prior remarks about the dire civic conditions in south Delhi's colony, the L-G addressed Kejriwal in a letter, referencing his post on X, stating that although you have “finally woken up and acknowledged the civic mess in the city,” it was done rather late.

Kejriwal had thanked the L-G for shedding light on the problem in Rangpuri and assured that “our team” would implement corrective measures.

In his letter written in Hindi, the L-G remarked: “The ‘our team’ you have mentioned in today's post on ‘X’ consists of the same officials/departments who accompanied me during my visit to Rangpuri and Kapashera on December 21, 2024, and to whom I had requested solutions for the issues.”

Delivering a sharp critique of the AAP convenor ahead of the Assembly elections, the L-G noted: “You will recall that on numerous occasions over the past two and a half years, I have either written to you or discussed in person the serious problems faced by Delhi and its residents and urged you to address them. Issues included pollution in the Yamuna, cleaning of the Najafgarh drain, desilting of sewer lines, deteriorating roads, water shortages, delays in hospital construction, and air pollution.”

Condemning the AAP government for its failures, the L-G stated: “I would have appreciated it if you had also paid attention to those Delhi government schools where students of two classes are taught by ghost teachers in the same room, faced away from each other, acknowledged the condition of those mohalla clinics where the situation is dismal, and doctors conduct tests for phantom patients without being present, improved those government hospitals suffering from medicine shortages and doctor absenteeism, and addressed the concerns of poor residents receiving exorbitant water and electricity bills.”

Criticizing Kejriwal for not visiting local neighborhoods to assess the conditions personally, the L-G remarked: “You have disregarded my suggestions to step out and observe the state of civic amenities, which has proven fruitless.”

Saxena also expressed displeasure over Kejriwal sending “temporary Chief Minister” Atishi to the colony instead of visiting himself.

“Regardless, it is encouraging that you have started acknowledging your responsibilities and, after ten years, are beginning to recognize the deteriorating conditions in Delhi and the plight of its citizens. I assure you I will continue to bring these issues to your attention in the future,” stated the L-G.

Earlier that day, the L-G approved the suspension of two senior officials from the Delhi government's fire safety department, Ved Pal and Udai Vir Singh, in connection with a drowning incident in the basement of a coaching center in Old Rajendra Nagar that occurred in July.
