Man Arrested for Coercing Woman to Drink Alcohol During New Year Festivities in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Jan 1 (NationPress) A man has been arrested on charges of coercing a woman to consume alcohol at a pub during the New Year festivities in Bengaluru, as reported by the police on Wednesday.
The incident took place at a pub located in the Bellandur area.
The man was apprehended after the woman, originally from Odisha, filed a police complaint regarding the incident.
She had attended the pub with her boyfriend to celebrate the New Year. While enjoying the party, the accused approached her and offered her liquor.
Upon her refusal, he acted indecently and engaged in an argument with her.
Upon hearing the disturbance, the pub staff rushed to the scene, but the accused had already managed to escape.
The police have initiated a case under the allegations of sexual harassment and indecent behavior and are actively searching for the suspect.
In a related incident, the Marathalli police have filed a report against a man for inappropriately touching a woman at a pub in Bengaluru during the New Year celebration.
This incident occurred at a well-known pub in Kadubeesanahalli. Following the victim's complaint, the police registered a case against an unidentified individual.
The woman had visited the pub on Tuesday night to ring in the New Year when the accused touched her inappropriately.
She protested against his actions and expressed her concerns to the pub staff regarding the lack of security for women. In the ensuing chaos, the accused managed to flee the scene.
Subsequently, the woman filed a complaint with the Marathalli Police. Authorities retrieved the pub's Digital Video Recorder to assist in tracking down the perpetrator.
Meanwhile, the Bengaluru Traffic Police reported that they registered 513 drink-and-drive cases between Tuesday night and the early hours of Wednesday.
