Guwahati, April 6 (NationPress) During a public rally in Assam’s Hojai on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi indirectly criticized the Gandhi family, stating that the Congress party prioritizes dynastic interests instead of serving the public.

While refraining from naming anyone explicitly, PM Modi highlighted Congress’s so-called “family-first” approach and contrasted it with the BJP’s commitment to development and governance.

In a subtle reference to the Nehru-Gandhi family, he remarked that the party is focused on catering to a “shahi parivar (royal family)” in Delhi, noting that leadership in Assam also revolves around a single family.

Emphasizing the BJP’s governance model, PM Modi asserted that his party is dedicated to enhancing the lives of the people in Assam through ongoing development initiatives. He claimed, “BJP operates on the principles of ‘nation first’ and ‘people first’”, unlike the Congress, which he accused of engaging in dynastic politics.

Furthermore, he criticized Congress over allegations of corruption, asserting that members of the “royal family” are currently out on bail for multiple cases, raising concerns about the party’s credibility.

Drawing parallels with states governed by Congress, PM Modi mentioned Himachal Pradesh, accusing the party of making grand promises to voters before elections but failing to fulfill them afterward. He stated that the Congress government in the hill state has even cut the salaries of government employees, betraying the public’s trust.

According to PM Modi, these instances demonstrate a recurring pattern in Congress’s behavior, where electoral commitments are not honored once in power. He urged the voters in Assam to be vigilant and trust the BJP, which he claimed has consistently delivered on its promises.

Reaffirming the BJP’s development agenda, PM Modi emphasized that the party is tirelessly working to ensure progress, stability, and improved living standards for the people of Assam.

Additionally, he took a stand against illegal infiltration, stating, “Congress has supported infiltration, leading to encroachments on the land of Assam’s indigenous people. This is a consequence of their vote bank politics.”

In stark contrast, PM Modi asserted that both the BJP government at the Centre and in Assam are determined to reclaim such lands and restore rights to the native populace. “Our administration is taking decisive action against illegal encroachments and infiltrators. We are dedicated to protecting Assam’s land, culture, and identity,” he added.

He accused Congress of opposing every measure taken by the government to combat illegal infiltration. “Whenever actions are initiated against infiltrators, Congress leaders come to their aid. They publicly support those who have unlawfully occupied land,” PM Modi stated.
