New Delhi, May 19 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative to initiate a global diplomatic campaign following Operation Sindoor has garnered significant public backing, while a number of individuals express concern over the Opposition's attempts to politicize foreign visits undertaken by parliamentarians, as indicated by a recent opinion poll released on Monday.
This is one of the key insights from a nationwide survey conducted by IANS-Matrize News Communications, which gathered opinions from 7,463 participants across the country, comprising 4,702 men and 2,761 women.
The covert operation, referred to as Operation Sindoor, has not only received considerable approval but has also notably improved PM Modi's standing both domestically and internationally, as per the poll results.
Following the retaliatory measures taken against terror bases in Pakistan, the Prime Minister's approval rating has surged, with 74 percent of respondents affirming that his popularity has increased.
In contrast, 11 percent of the participants believe that there has been no effect on the Prime Minister's popularity, while 10 percent assert that he has become less popular post-operation.
A significant portion of the respondents dismissed the Opposition's efforts to create a negative narrative surrounding Operation Sindoor and the subsequent ceasefire discussions initiated by the Centre, as highlighted in the nationwide opinion poll conducted between May 9 and 15 across various Assembly segments.
According to the survey, 57 percent of respondents consider the Opposition's inquiries regarding Operation Sindoor to be unwarranted. Meanwhile, 27 percent opine that the Opposition is justified in scrutinizing the military actions taken by the Modi administration.
Moreover, the demand from the Opposition for a special session of Parliament following Operation Sindoor was largely dismissed by the participants of the opinion poll.
