Bhopal, July 1 (NationPress) The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet convened on Tuesday to endorse several significant proposals, most notably the establishment of a Rastriya Raksha University (RRU) campus in Bhopal.
The campus, associated with the prestigious Gujarat-based RRU known for its commitment to enhancing education and research in national security and policing, will be set up on the grounds of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV).
Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla addressed the media following the Cabinet meeting, noting that the state government has allocated 10 acres of land for the RRU branch.
He remarked, "While the campus is under construction, the branch will operate from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya. This represents a historic advancement by the Madhya Pradesh government, promising numerous benefits."
The esteemed RRU is a national university overseen by the Ministry of Home Affairs, specializing in national security and policing.
The institution's goal is to offer educational resources in security strategies and police studies, covering both current and future needs.
In a further pivotal decision, the Cabinet sanctioned the creation of model villages termed 'Vrindavan Village.' Each of the 230 assembly constituencies will have one designated 'Vrindavan Village.'
Shukla explained, "‘Vrindavan Villages’ will be equipped with essential amenities, including a primary healthcare unit, tap water, rooftop solar energy, a library, a waste disposal facility, and more.”
Earlier, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had unveiled this innovative initiative in November 2024, introducing the 'Vrindavan Gram Yojana', aimed at converting select villages into model settlements focused on cow conservation, rural development, and boosting milk production.
Village heads (sarpanch) selected under the Vrindavan Gram Yojana will have the authority to make decisions to resolve land disputes among residents, promoting a dispute-free environment.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved an investment of Rs. 4,572 crore for the redevelopment of 1,766 bridges.
