Bhopal, Feb 12 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Minister Vishwas Sarang has ardently supported his government’s choice to rename 54 villages within the state, asserting it is an essential move to eliminate signs of “slavery” and reclaim India’s cultural identity.
In an interview with IANS, Sarang remarked, “This is a positive initiative. The names associated with our colonial history or foreign domination need to be altered. The Congress party is perplexed because it has historically undervalued the cultural heritage of our nation. This is the same Nehru-Gandhi lineage that named a road in Delhi after Aurangzeb, a notorious Mughal tyrant.”
Further escalating his criticisms of Congress, he stated that their ideology is out of touch with India's foundations. “Congress has Italy in its DNA. It has consistently aimed to undermine and attack India’s vibrant cultural traditions. Our resolution to rename these villages will endure without fail. Names that represent oppression and servitude will be eliminated,” he told IANS.
The Minister underscored that renaming the villages resonates with public sentiment. “This reflects the wishes of the people who believe such names are unwarranted in a liberated India,” he added.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who was in Devas on Tuesday, declared the renaming of 54 villages in the district. The list of villages slated for renaming has also been disclosed, prepared in response to requests from the district BJP unit.
Regarding preparations for the Global Investors Summit in Bhopal, Sarang expressed optimism about the event's success. “The Global Investors Summit in Bhopal is a crucial opportunity for the state. The government and its agencies are diligently working to guarantee the event’s successful execution,” he told IANS.
Scheduled for February 24 and 25, the summit is anticipated to draw significant investors, promoting economic advancement and creating job opportunities in Madhya Pradesh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Madhya Pradesh Global Investors Summit on February 24, while Union Home Minister Amit Shah will participate in the closing ceremony on February 25.
