Gurugram, May 13 (NationPress) A team from the Gurugram Police has apprehended an individual for the alleged murder of a 35-year-old man, according to police reports.
The suspect has been named as Jawahar, also known as Kattapa, hailing from Damoh in Madhya Pradesh.
An official confirmed that Jawahar was captured in IMT Manesar on Tuesday.
As per police statements, the victim, Ravi Kumar, originally from Pinana village in Sonipat, was discovered deceased near a slum in Sector 8 of IMT Manesar on Monday morning.
Following a complaint filed by the victim's brother, a murder case was initiated at the IMT Manesar police station, prompting an investigation.
Authorities indicated that Ravi was employed at a private firm in IMT Manesar and resided in rented quarters in Aliyar village.
During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that Ravi had gone missing on Sunday night, with his body being found the next day near a roadside slum.
As the investigation progressed, Sub-Inspector Lalit Kumar, overseeing the Crime Branch Manesar and IMT Manesar Sector-7 Police Station, coordinated efforts that led to the arrest of the suspect in the IMT Manesar vicinity.
During questioning, it was discovered that Jawahar, a laborer, had been living in a room adjacent to Ravi's in the same house in Aliyar village.
According to Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson for the Gurugram police, "Jawahar and Ravi were friends. On Sunday night, they had been drinking near a liquor shop, which led to a confrontation between them. During this dispute, Jawahar struck Ravi multiple times on the head with a stone found nearby, resulting in his immediate death. He then abandoned the body and fled the scene."
