NDMC and Delhi Police Engage Educators on Drug Awareness and Hoax Call Dangers

New Delhi, Jan 6 (NationPress) The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), in collaboration with Delhi Police, held an informative session for school educators focusing on the challenges posed by drug abuse, cyber security threats, and the risks associated with hoax calls on Monday.

This initiative was part of the ‘Suraksha Sankalp’ theme—aimed at fostering a safer future. Approximately 350 NDMC school teachers participated in the event.

During the event, Chairman NDMC Keshav Chandra emphasized that by closely monitoring students' behavior, teachers can play a crucial role in combating the drug abuse problem among school-age children.

“We must enhance our vigilance regarding any suspicious activities around schools that could jeopardize our students' futures,” he remarked.

He also pointed out that cyber criminals are constantly evolving their tactics, making it essential for everyone to remain alert while engaging with social media and online payment platforms.

Chandra expressed gratitude to Delhi Police for their efforts in organizing such awareness initiatives that empower teachers to disseminate valuable information to students, aiming to mitigate issues related to drug abuse, cyber security, and hoax calls in schools.

In his speech, Devesh Chandra Srivastav, Special CP, Crime at Delhi Police, commended the collaboration between NDMC and Delhi Police in facilitating this awareness program, highlighting the relevance of topics like drug abuse, cyber security, and hoax calls for students.

“It is imperative to first educate teachers, enabling them to shield students from potential cyber traps and drug-related issues,” he stated.

He also discussed the importance of increasing awareness about hoax calls, as they can incite panic and spread misinformation among students, parents, and the wider community.

“Maintaining composure in such situations can help us counter the agendas of anti-social elements,” he concluded.
