New Delhi, April 2 (NationPress) BJP MP Nishikant Dubey condemned the Congress party on Thursday for what he termed the “unlawful detention” of Dr. Colonel B. Ramchandra Rao, an esteemed member of the Azad Hind Fauj, calling it a “disturbing chapter” in history.

Dr. Rao notably appeared before the G.D. Khosla Commission (1970-74), where he testified that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose survived a plane crash and was attempting to reach Russia.

Dubey stated, “It is crucial for everyone to understand that a freedom fighter and physician was held in illegal confinement for five years. This represents a dark period for the Congress party.”

While addressing reporters outside Parliament, he added, “Doctor Colonel B. Ramchandra Rao served as the personal physician to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and he aimed to hold a press conference in 1965-66 to assert that Netaji’s plane did not crash. No crash occurred on that date. He personally bid farewell to Netaji as he departed for Russia.”

Dubey continued, “Upon learning of this, then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi initiated legal action against him in 1965. This was an unnecessary case against a member of the Azad Hind Fauj. On April 2, 1966, he was apprehended in Andhra Pradesh and subjected to illegal imprisonment, facing both physical and psychological torture.”

According to Dubey, the testimony of Ramchandra Rao before the Khosla Commission was dismissed by labeling him as “mentally unfit.”

He further alleged, “Declassified documents reveal that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose did indeed travel to Russia. If he died in a plane crash, why were his family members' phones monitored from 1947 to 1956? Why were they under constant surveillance? I have shared those documents as well (on X).”

Dubey stated, “He was on the verge of discussing the role of (former Prime Minister) Jawaharlal Nehru. He intended to reveal who would have custody of Subhas Bose if he were alive. He was also prepared to speak about the bombing of the Azad Hind Fauj in 1945 and the historical context of the Nehru-Gandhi family.”

Nishikant Dubey urged young people to examine and verify his claims independently.

“I strongly encourage today’s youth, especially Gen Z, to thoroughly investigate the points I have raised. The younger generation is educated and has access to technology and the Internet, enabling them to uncover the truth swiftly,”

he expressed. “I implore all youth to research and ascertain the accuracy of my statements.”

On his X account, he posted, “Dr. Ramchandra Rao Ji, a soldier of the Azad Hind Fauj, was held in unlawful custody for five years by Indira Gandhi Ji and was labeled insane. He regained his freedom only after a Supreme Court ruling. The intention was to prevent evidence of Subhas Chandra Bose Ji being alive from reaching the public. Those responsible for the assault on the Azad Hind Fauj were kept concealed. The narrative surrounding India’s partition was deliberately obscured.”
