Mahakumbh Nagar, Jan 30 (NationPress) A significant influx of devotees, including VIPs and VVIPs, is expected at the Triveni Sangam for a holy dip during Maha Kumbh 2025. Nevertheless, the Yogi government has firmly forbidden any VIP privileges during ‘Amrit Snan’ and other essential bathing festivals to guarantee a fair and uninterrupted experience for all pilgrims.
Aligned with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision, the administration has opted not to enforce any VIP benefits on these crucial bathing days or the adjacent dates. This directive was communicated well ahead of the fair’s initiation, and measures are currently being implemented to enforce it rigorously.
Importantly, at the onset of Maha Kumbh 2025, the Yogi government circulated a notice disallowing VIP movements on Amrit Snan and major bathing days, including the preceding and subsequent days of these events.
Through this initiative, the Yogi government intends to offer a hassle-free and enriching experience for all pilgrims during the key bathing festivals at Maha Kumbh. Devotees will no longer encounter inconveniences such as route alterations, restrictions, or delays stemming from VIP movements.
Consequently, VIPs and VVIP delegations planning to visit Prayagraj during Basant Panchami, Magh Purnima, and Mahashivratri — as well as the days before and after these festivals — will not be granted any special treatment or protocols.
Moreover, the government has stipulated that any VIP or VVIP movement should be reported at least a week in advance. This regulation aims to avert last-minute VIP arrivals that could disrupt arrangements for pilgrims.
Considering the anticipated large crowds on these vital bathing days, authorities have also encouraged visitors to remain patient and take essential precautions while participating in the holy event.
The Maha Kumbh, regarded as one of the most sacred festivals in Hinduism, is currently taking place in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, with millions of pilgrims taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the legendary Saraswati rivers.
The festival, observed with profound devotion and enthusiasm, commenced on January 13 with the 'Pavitra Snan' and is set to conclude on February 26, Maha Shivratri.
Key upcoming dates for sacred dips include February 3 (Basant Panchami), February 12 (Magh Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivratri).
