New Delhi, Feb 14 (NationPress) The Union Cabinet has officially sanctioned the 11.56 km metro extension from Sector 142 to Botanical Garden. This significant decision will introduce eight new elevated stations and extend the overall operational metro network in Noida and Greater Noida to 61.62 km.

This new corridor is anticipated to enhance urban mobility within the National Capital Region, providing seamless interchange options with the Delhi Metro's Blue and Magenta Lines, as stated by officials.

The integration aims to boost access to key commercial hubs, IT parks, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities, while also alleviating road congestion in the area.

In an official announcement, the Cabinet remarked, "The Extension Corridor from Noida Sector 142 to Botanical Garden (Noida) will introduce around 11.56 km of metro lines, greatly enhancing public transport in Noida, which currently suffers from inadequate connectivity. It will also ensure direct access to high-demand corridors, including interchanges at Botanical Garden (Blue Line) and Magenta Line."

This extension is designed to connect vital areas in Noida, linking commercial spots like Advant Business Park in Sector 142, Skymark One Mall in Sector 98, and The Mall of Noida in Sector 93. Additionally, it will enhance connectivity to major multinational firms and IT centers.

Institutions such as Amity University in Sector 125 and Panchsheel Balak Inter College, along with healthcare facilities like Max Super Speciality Hospital, are expected to benefit significantly from the new metro line.

Officials indicated that by connecting these essential nodes, the Extension Corridor from Noida Sector 142 to Botanical Garden (Noida) will not only improve connectivity but also stimulate economic activity and enhance urban mobility for residents and commuters seeking employment, business, education, and general transit.

They also pointed out that with the implementation of the Extension Corridor from Noida Sector 142 to Botanical Garden (Noida) under the Noida Metro Rail Project, the overall expansion of the Metro Rail Network in Noida and Greater Noida is predicted to considerably reduce carbon emissions compared to traditional fossil fuel-based transport.

As per officials, shorter travel times and better access to various city parts, along with improved links to major transport hubs like Delhi's airport, railway stations, and bus depots, will enhance productivity, allowing individuals to reach workplaces and destinations more efficiently.

The enhanced accessibility is likely to invigorate local businesses, particularly in proximity to the new metro stations, while drawing in new investments and fostering development in previously under-connected regions.

"The expansion of the Extension Corridor from Noida Sector 142 to Botanical Garden (Noida) Metro Rail network will enable more equitable access to public transport, benefiting various socio-economic groups and mitigating transport disparities, which will lead to an improved quality of life by shortening commute times and enhancing access to vital services," the official announcement concluded.
