Notable Jeweler Boby Chemmanur Arrested After Actress Honey Rose Files Complaint

Wayanad, Jan 8 (NationPress) The renowned jeweler Boby Chemmanur was apprehended by the Kerala police on Wednesday morning at his resort in Wayanad, following a complaint filed by well-known actress Honey Rose. Rose accused Chemmanur of using offensive language towards her, an incident she revealed had taken place four months prior.
Superintendent of Police Taposh Basumathary confirmed the detention of Chemmanur, stating that the investigative team assigned to the case would transport him to Kochi for further questioning.
At present, Chemmanur is being held at the Wayanad police camp and is anticipated to be moved to the Kochi Central Police Station later today.
This rapid response took many by surprise, especially since Chemmanur was reportedly in the process of obtaining anticipatory bail.
On Tuesday, Honey Rose publicly announced her intention to file a police report, describing the incident as profoundly distressing for both her and her family.
She shared her ordeal on social media, cautioning Chemmanur that she would escalate her complaint to include his close associates if deemed necessary.
Previously, Rose had recounted the incident on social media without disclosing Chemmanur's name, which led to a surge of cyberattacks against her. The police have since arrested approximately two dozen individuals involved in these attacks.
The actress, who debuted in the 2005 Malayalam film Boyy Friennd, gained fame with the 2012 movie 'Trivandrum Lodge'. She is now a highly sought-after personality in the entertainment field, especially for public appearances.
Boby Chemmanur serves as the chairman of the Chemmanur International Group, a vast business conglomerate. He is notably recognized for his connection with the late football icon Diego Maradona, whom he brought to Kerala in 2012.
Chemmanur has frequently been in the news for his unique initiatives, including a record-setting 812 km marathon in April 2014, designed to promote awareness about blood donation. This campaign resulted in the establishment of the world’s largest blood bank, encouraging approximately 1.4 million blood donations.
As the investigation progresses, the allegations have cast a shadow over Chemmanur's reputation, which he has built over decades through high-profile endeavors and philanthropic activities.
