Prominent Businessman Chemmanur Detained Following Complaint from South Actress Honey Rose

Wayanad, Jan 8 (NationPress) Just hours after Malayalam actress Honey Rose submitted a police complaint against business magnate Boby Chemmanur for using offensive language against her on social media, Chemmanur was apprehended on Wednesday morning at his resort in Wayanad.

In response to reports of Chemmanur's detention, Honey Rose expressed her relief, stating, "We were genuinely hurt by his actions. I felt a great sense of relief after conversing with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who assured me that measures would be taken. I also communicated with the state's police chief. We are immensely grateful for the actions taken and the support from various sources," Rose mentioned.

The Wayanad District Police Chief, Taposh Basumatary, confirmed that Chemmanur was taken into custody by the police team.

"He will be transported to Kochi, where the investigation team will interrogate him based on the complaint received by the police in Kochi," Basumatary stated.

Currently, Chemmanur is being held at the Wayanad Police Camp and is set to be transferred to the Kochi Central Police Station later today.

Chemmanur had been residing at the resort for several days, and the swift police action surprised many, especially as the businessman was preparing documents for anticipatory bail.

On Tuesday, Rose revealed that she had gone to the police to file a complaint regarding Chemmanur's insulting behavior.

"This highly unpleasant incident occurred four months ago, and my family has been deeply affected by it," Rose shared after filing her complaint.

The actress also shared this incident on her social media, warning Chemmanur that she would pursue action against his close friends and associates.

Interestingly, just two days ago, Rose took to her social media to recount the incident without naming her harasser.

Consequently, she faced a series of cyberattacks, leading to the arrest of over 25 individuals by the police.

Honey Rose made her acting debut in the 2005 Malayalam film 'Boyy Friennd' and gained significant attention in 2012 with 'Trivandrum Lodge'. Her career skyrocketed post that film, making her a highly sought-after actress for various events.

Boby Chemmanur is the chairman of a vast business conglomerate, the Boby Chemmanur International Group. His close ties with the late Diego Maradona enabled him to host the football legend in Kerala in 2012.

Well-known for his philanthropy, Chemmanur completed a record-setting marathon (812 km) in April 2014, traveling from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram to help establish the world’s largest blood bank. Due to his efforts, approximately 1.4 million people donated blood for this noble cause.
