New Delhi, Feb 4 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday highlighted the government's significant achievements and milestones over the last decade, covering areas from public welfare initiatives to harnessing modern growth opportunities like Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as upskilling the youth to boost the nation’s economic engine.

In his response to the Motion of Thanks on the President's address, PM Modi took the opportunity to criticize the Opposition, labeling their politics as 'opportunistic and misleading', aimed at advancing their own interests at the expense of public welfare.

During his extensive 100-minute speech in the Lok Sabha, he particularly condemned 'Sheeshmahal', a reference to the excessive spending of public funds by the AAP government, and 'photo op in jhuggis', indirectly targeting Rahul Gandhi’s engagement efforts with impoverished communities.

The Prime Minister humorously criticized both AAP and Congress leaders without naming them.

"Some leaders have made their politics revolve around jacuzzis and luxurious showers, while our focus has been on addressing issues related to tap water supply and striving for 100% coverage under the Jal Jeevan Mission," PM Modi stated, referencing water accessibility in Delhi.

Notably, the former Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal's official residence, 'Sheeshmahal', renowned for its lavish features such as jacuzzis, extravagant showers, and golden toilets, has been a focal point in the contentious campaigning for the Delhi Assembly elections.

Expounding on the government’s community-driven initiatives, PM Modi enumerated schemes that have resulted in savings of hundreds of crores, which have been utilized to enhance living standards.

"In the last decade, we have saved substantial amounts that have been redirected for public benefit. We did not allocate those funds to construct a 'Sheeshmahal'; instead, we invested in nation-building," the Prime Minister declared, prompting applause from the ruling party members.

He also criticized Congress's long-standing governance for deceiving citizens with popular slogans like Garibi Hatao, only to abandon them.

Mocking Congress leaders for their photo-ops in jhuggis, he remarked that those who capture images in huts for their amusement would find discussions about the poor in Parliament 'boring'.

This comment was aimed at the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, who was notably absent during the address.

In another jab, PM Modi stated that some leaders have lost their composure following successive defeats.

Further intensifying his critique of the Opposition, he remarked that while Artificial Intelligence (AI) might be entertaining for some, for him and the nation, it symbolizes Artificial Intelligence and Aspirational India.

PM Modi also accused certain leaders of openly adopting the rhetoric of 'urban naxals' and challenging the Indian state, a clear nod to Rahul Gandhi’s recent claim that Congress's struggle is against the Indian state.

"Those who use this language fail to comprehend the Constitution. For the past 70 years, Jammu and Kashmir has been deprived of its constitutional rights. Our government dismantled Article 370 and established a level playing field for its residents," PM Modi asserted.

He further stated that those who carry a copy of the Constitution in their pockets will never grasp the struggles they imposed on Muslim women.

"Our government abolished Triple Talaq, delivering justice to millions of Muslim women," PM Modi remarked.

The Prime Minister concluded by stating, "While the Opposition indulges in appeasement politics, our priority is 'santushtikaran' that truly matters."
