What Did PM Modi Say About Delhi's Infrastructure?

New Delhi, Aug 17 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday criticized the previous administrations for Delhi's inadequate infrastructure and social services, attributing the national capital's subpar performance across various growth metrics to their governance.

He subtly referenced the former AAP administration, suggesting they fostered divisions among communities instead of promoting Delhi's progress.

"There were allegations that individuals from Haryana were poisoning the Yamuna River to harm Delhi residents," he noted, recalling accusations made by the former Chief Minister of Delhi.

PM Modi emphasized that, in contrast to his predecessors, the BJP government is dedicated to the development of Delhi and the entire NCR region, and will pursue this aim vigorously.

The Prime Minister also condemned those who claim to be defenders of the Constitution, stating that they are the same individuals who have disregarded it.

He expressed his concern regarding a harsh provision in the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, which stipulated that a sanitation worker could face a month in jail for failing to report to work.

PM Modi pointed out that his administration has implemented numerous reforms, with many more on the way.

"Our aim is to enhance and simplify the lives of our citizens, and we will persist in this effort. This upcoming Diwali will be significant for Delhi's populace, thanks to revolutionary reforms in GST," PM Modi remarked.

He passionately advocated for a swadeshi approach, urging both citizens and merchants to prioritize 'Made in India' products, asserting that this would bolster the economy and lead to national prosperity.

With a strong call for 'vocal for local,' he stated, "Whenever we have set a goal, we have demonstrated our capability."

"When the BJP assumed power in 2014, Khadi was nearly extinct. I urged the nation to support it, and the outcomes are clear, with its sales rising more than sevenfold in the last decade," he asserted.

"Today, we see Made in India phones widely available, unlike the past when we relied on foreign brands. India is now manufacturing and exporting millions of mobile devices," he commented.

Highlighting UPI as a key achievement for India, he noted that this digital payment system has become the largest in the world.

PM Modi also encouraged traders and shopkeepers to prioritize swadeshi goods over profit margins, as this would strengthen the nation and contribute to the prosperity of its citizens.

"We must support swadeshi and Made in India products. This festive season, let us consume and promote those produced in our country," he urged the audience.

"By doing so, we will ensure that money circulates within the country, ultimately empowering the nation and strengthening the Indian economy," he concluded.
