Jammu, April 11 (NationPress) Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district announced a significant operation against drug trafficking on Saturday, resulting in the apprehension of five individuals and the confiscation of heroin during routine naka checks.
A police report indicated that the first operation was executed by the Nowshera Police on Friday to combat drug trafficking.
During the standard checking protocol, a Scorpio vehicle with Registration No. JK11H-8838 was stopped at Thalka Naka. Upon inspection, one individual, identified as Wajid Khan, son of Nisar Khan, a resident of Kakora in Tehsil Manjakote, was discovered with approximately 11 grams of heroin (chitta).
The suspect was detained on-site, and the illegal substance was seized. Consequently, FIR No. 68/2026 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act has been filed at PS Nowshera, according to police reports.
In a separate operation, during naka checks at Lamberi, another Scorpio vehicle with Registration No. JK11D-3883 was also halted.
Four individuals, including Naseem Akram, son of Mohd Akram from Rajouri; Waqar Ahmed, son of Nazir Hussain from Manjakote; Danish Choudhary, son of Mohd Fazil from Govardhan Bala; and Rameez Raja, son of Nisar Hussain from Kakora, were found to be in possession of heroin (chitta).
