Chandigarh, May 18 (NationPress) Punjab Police have successfully dismantled an international narco trafficking cartel following the apprehension of three operatives and the seizure of 10.2 kg of heroin, announced Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Sunday.

The individuals taken into custody include Akashdeep Singh (22) and Akash alias Mota (19), both hailing from Cheema Kalan in Tarn Taran, along with Sandeep Singh (30) from Kotli Vasawa Singh in the same district.

In addition to the heroin, police have seized two motorcycles that were used for the distribution of the narcotics.

DGP Yadav revealed that the initial investigation indicates that Akashdeep Singh and Sandeep Singh had maintained contact with smugglers across the border in Pakistan for approximately six years.

These smugglers reportedly utilized drones to transport heroin consignments across the border, which were then distributed at various locations for further dissemination, he explained.

The DGP confirmed that further investigations are ongoing to identify connections within the network.
