Srinagar, April 25 (NationPress) The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, declared on Friday that every individual involved in and supporting the Pahalgam terror attack must be thoroughly pursued.
He assessed the security situation alongside the Army Chief and other high-ranking commanders from the Northern Command.
Officials reported that the L-G instructed Army Chief, General Upendra Dwivedi, who met with him here, to implement effective measures not only to bring those behind the Pahalgam attack to justice but also to enhance efforts aimed at dismantling the foundations of terrorism and its network.
“In the discussions, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized that the nation has complete trust in the courage and valor of our Army, police, and CAPFs. They must collaborate closely to identify the perpetrators, enablers, and OGWs involved in the Pahalgam massacre, pursuing the entire chain systematically to neutralize them,” he stated.
“Every perpetrator and supporter of the Pahalgam terror attack, regardless of their location or association, must be pursued and made to face the severe consequences for their cowardly and dastardly actions against our citizens,” the Lieutenant Governor remarked to the senior Army officials.
The assembly also reviewed existing security protocols, examining various short-term and long-term measures, alongside integration and coordination among the security agencies.
Attendees included Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, GOC-in-C Northern Command Lt Gen M.V. Suchindra Kumar, Deputy Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, and GoC 15 Corps Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava.
In a cowardly assault, terrorists murdered 26 civilians, comprising 25 tourists and one local resident, in Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam on April 22.
This attack stunned the nation as Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated in his initial response that the terrorists, their handlers, and supporters would receive punishment beyond their imagination.
The Prime Minister asserted that the time has come to obliterate the diminishing space available for terrorists.
