Jaipur, Feb 26 (NationPress) In a pioneering move, state Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar launched the Shiksha Sanjeevani Bima Yojana during a special event at Residency Girls Higher Secondary School in Udaipur. This innovative scheme is the first of its kind in the state, offering personal accident insurance coverage of Rs one lakh to 1.3 lakh students enrolled in government schools throughout the Udaipur division.

The insurance will also provide coverage in instances of accidental death of a student’s parent, as confirmed by officials from the education department. This unique initiative aims to eventually reach one crore school children across the state.

The scheme's objectives include ensuring continuity in children's education, combating child labor, fostering financial inclusion through Digital India, preventing misuse of insurance claims, promoting early savings habits, and providing scholarships with interest until the child reaches 18 years in the event of a parent's accidental death.

During the ceremony, Minister Madan Dilawar distributed insurance policies and kits to the participating students. This initiative represents a significant advancement in securing the future of schoolchildren and promoting a culture of financial security in Rajasthan, according to officials.

Minister Dilawar visited Udaipur on Wednesday to attend various programs, arriving from Jaipur at 6:00 a.m. He served as the chief guest during the Shiksha Jeevan Personal Accident Insurance Ceremony at the Residency School of Udaipur at 9 a.m.

Speaking to IANS, Minister Dilawar's team stated that this is the first scheme of its kind launched in the country. "Currently, over one lakh students are benefiting from it in Udaipur, and plans are underway to expand this initiative across Rajasthan to ensure all students can take advantage of it," officials reported.

"Preparations are being made to extend benefits to students from other districts as well. Our goal is to assist over one crore students through this scheme soon," officials added.
