Jaipur, Sep 19 (NationPress) In a major crackdown, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Rajasthan Police has apprehended Omveer Poswal, who had been evading capture in a grave murder case, with an announced reward of Rs 10,000 for his arrest.
This operation was executed as part of a strategic initiative ordered by Additional Director General of Police (Crime & AGTF), Dinesh MN.
Specialized teams were formed to locate long-absent and wanted criminals.
With the assistance of DIG Deepak Bhargava and the leadership of ASP Siddhant Sharma, the AGTF team received actionable intel regarding Poswal’s whereabouts.
Acting promptly, Head Constable Jugan Singh and Constable Surendra Kumar successfully apprehended the suspect at the Singhana Bus Stand in Jhunjhunu.
The incident dates back to May 18, when a group of armed assailants attacked Anil Kumar and his friend Sachin near the Triveni intersection in Jaipur.
The victims were ambushed while traveling in a car, leading to Anil sustaining severe axe wounds to the head and Sachin suffering a fractured arm.
The assailants also damaged the vehicle and stole Rs 15,000 in cash.
Following Anil Kumar’s report, a case was filed at Shiprapath Police Station under several sections, including those related to attempted murder, robbery, and vandalism.
Omveer Poswal was recognized as the main perpetrator, leading a group of 15–20 attackers involved in this violent incident.
