Patna, Nov 9 (NationPress) Union Defence Minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh targeted the RJD-Congress-led Mahagathbandhan on Sunday, criticizing their alleged engagement in numerous scams and their unabashed and unrestrained behavior as they campaign for the Bihar Assembly elections.
During a significant rally in Aurangabad’s Goh, the senior BJP figure condemned the RJD and Congress regarding corruption issues, highlighting that several leaders have faced allegations and even spent time behind bars, yet they are actively seeking votes in the elections.
He pointed out that many individuals are currently on bail while soliciting public support for votes – a clear nod towards Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, both accused of scams and still out on bail.
“Our coalition asserts that anyone accused of corruption should promptly resign from their position,” he stated, referencing Lal Krishna Advani and lamenting the current political landscape where such principles seem to hold little significance.
“Is there truly no other leader in the opposition capable of guiding this alliance in the elections?” he questioned.
Rajnath characterized the NDA not merely as a coalition of parties, but as a collective united by noble intentions.
“The manifesto we unveiled is not merely a statement; it is a steadfast commitment. Examine our manifesto, and you will see we have delivered on our promises,” he asserted to the audience.
He emphasized that a disparity between rhetoric and actions leads to a trust deficit. This election, he indicated, will determine whether Bihar will endure a jungle raj or progress towards development. Patna has undergone significant transformation over the past two decades.
“We must evolve Bihar into a developed state. If Bihar flourishes, then India will too,” he proclaimed.
Challenging Tejashwi Yadav’s claims of providing jobs to every household, he questioned his grasp of mathematics.
“He claims he can achieve this, but we cannot. Our focus is on expanding industries in this region,” he noted.
He added that wherever members of the NDA go, they invite people to “Come to our developed Bihar,” while RJD and Congress members make threats, saying, “Come to Bihar, and we will shoot you in the head with a gun.”
Rajnath Singh further highlighted NDA's commitments and their fulfillment, mentioning the construction of a grand Janki Maiya temple in Sitamarhi.
