Bhuj (Gujarat), Oct 2 (NationPress) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh delivered a firm warning to Pakistan on Thursday, stating that any misstep in the Sir Creek region will provoke a “resounding response” that could redefine both history and geography.
During his visit to the Bhuj Air Base for Vijayadashami, where he conducted Shastra Puja, Defence Minister Singh reflected on India’s military strength demonstrated in the 1965 war. He noted, “The Indian Army showcased its ability to reach Lahore. Today, in 2025, Pakistan should remember that one route to Karachi runs through the creek.”
Discussing 'Operation Sindoor', he mentioned that Pakistan had unsuccessfully attempted to penetrate India’s defenses from Leh to Sir Creek. “In our retaliatory action, Indian forces thoroughly exposed the Pakistani air defence system. 'Operation Sindoor' has conveyed a clear message globally -- India can inflict significant damage on Pakistan anytime and anywhere,” he asserted.
Despite India’s capabilities, the Defence Minister emphasized the importance of restraint.
“Our operation was aimed at terrorism, not to escalate tensions into war. I am pleased that our armed forces accomplished all objectives of 'Operation Sindoor'. However, our struggle against terrorism is far from finished,” he remarked.
On the long-standing Sir Creek dispute, Defence Minister Singh pointed out that it has persisted for 78 years since Independence.
“India has consistently sought resolution through dialogue, but Pakistan's intentions remain questionable. Its recent military build-up near Sir Creek reveals its designs. Let me be clear -- any aggression in this area will be met with a decisive response,” he asserted.
Honoring Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary, he remarked that Gandhi ji represented the highest morals without weapons. “Our soldiers possess both morals and weapons. No force can withstand them,” he stated.
He also called upon Goddess Durga during the Shastra Puja, seeking strength and courage for the armed forces.
“The Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy are the three pillars of our strength. Their collaboration is essential to meet every challenge. On this occasion, I commend our valiant soldiers and officers for the success of 'Operation Sindoor',” Defence Minister Singh said, emphasizing that weapons are not only symbols of power but also respect for the soldiers who wield them.
He reiterated that honoring weapons is akin to honoring our soldiers. It’s not just our resolve that matters, but also the means we have to uphold that resolve. Therefore, he concluded, Shastra Puja holds equal significance as a symbol of preparedness, reverence, and national pride.
