New Delhi, Sep 17 (NationPress) Union Minister Kiren Rijiju visited the historic Gurdwara Bangla Sahib in Delhi on Wednesday to offer his prayers in honor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, wishing him a long and healthy life.
During the Akhand Path and Ardas ceremony held for the Prime Minister’s birthday, Rijiju emphasized that this day holds great significance for the entire nation.
“Today marks PM Modi's 75th birthday, a profoundly significant day for all of us. To embody the spirit of service demonstrated by the Prime Minister, we chose to visit the most revered site in Delhi. Hence, we came to the sacred Bangla Sahib Gurdwara. I humbly bowed my head and prayed for the country, world peace, and the Prime Minister’s health,” Rijiju expressed to the media.
The Minister, who was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Minority Affairs, including the Secretary, emphasized the important contributions made by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) in serving society.
“The DSGMC has consistently been our ally, performing exceptional work for the Sikh community and society at large. Our Ministry of Minority Affairs collaborates closely with them, and we recently met with their office bearers,” he stated.
Describing the Gurdwara as a beacon of peace and spirituality, Rijiju mentioned feeling blessed to be present on such a momentous occasion.
“This site is not just a holy place but also a tranquil environment where I received blessings. I prayed for the Prime Minister’s long life, good health, and his ongoing service to our nation,” he added.
Rijiju also commended the Sikh community’s tradition of selfless service.
“The message of service from this Gurdwara is profoundly impactful. The level of selfless service here is truly remarkable,” he noted.
The event at Bangla Sahib was one of many religious and community gatherings organized nationwide to celebrate the Prime Minister’s birthday.
