Kolkata, Feb 8 (NationPress) The parents of the RK Kar case victim convened with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday to request his involvement in securing justice for their daughter.

During his visit to West Bengal for organizational duties, Bhagwat took a moment to meet the victim’s family at a guest house in New Town, located on the northern fringes of Kolkata, and assured them he would take all necessary actions regarding their concerns.

It has come to light that the victim’s parents reached out to the RSS office in Kolkata the previous night to express their desire to meet Bhagwat, who promptly agreed to the meeting on Saturday.

In their discussion, the victim’s family earnestly urged Bhagwat to ensure that the Union government implements the necessary measures and provides clear instructions for a thorough investigation, aiming to bring all those responsible for this heinous act to justice.

Previously, Bhagwat has been an outspoken advocate for the victim’s family, directing RSS officials in West Bengal to offer any needed support, including legal assistance.

This meeting occurs just before various medical associations plan to host several events in remembrance of the victim's doctor, coinciding with the victim's birthday on Sunday. The parents plan to attend all these events. They have faced significant backlash from certain members of the Trinamool Congress for their stance against the death penalty for the sole convict in the case, Sanjay Roy, a former civic volunteer associated with the state police.

The victim’s family has firmly stated their opposition to the death penalty for Roy, emphasizing their desire for all masterminds behind the crime to be held accountable.
