New Delhi, May 27 (NationPress) Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut is facing significant backlash, especially from the BJP, due to his contentious remarks regarding 'Operation Sindoor'. This military initiative aimed at dismantling terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) has now become a point of ridicule, with critics suggesting he has 'lost his mental balance.'

Raut, a close associate of Uddhav Thackeray, ignited a political controversy by declaring 'Operation Sindoor' a failure.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Raut remarked, “As I have mentioned before, 'Operation Sindoor' was a failure. However, for the sake of our nation, we in the Opposition are refraining from discussing it further.”

His comments sparked outrage, particularly from the BJP and the Shinde faction of the Shiv Sena.

The BJP launched a fierce attack against Raut and the SS(UBT), criticizing them for questioning the effectiveness of the military operation carried out by the Indian armed forces from May 7 to May 10.

Several BJP leaders condemned Raut's derogatory remarks about the forces.

BJP national spokesperson Tuhin A. Sinha condemned Raut's comments, stating, “The actions of Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray's party during and after 'Operation Sindoor' have been profoundly disappointing and shameful.

“Once again, their negative stance has shown that this is no longer Balasaheb Thackeray’s party. While Raut questions 'Operation Sindoor', his party member Priyanka Chaturvedi is enhancing India’s reputation on global diplomatic platforms.”

“It is disgraceful for Sanjay Raut to cast doubt on the bravery of our armed forces! Labeling 'Operation Sindoor' a 'failed operation' aligns with enemy propaganda. The Congress-led Opposition stands with Pakistan in their efforts to demoralize our soldiers and challenge a decisive strike against terror,” Pradeep Bhandari expressed on X.

Maharashtra minister Yogesh Ramdas Kadam emphasized that there could be no greater dishonor than this.

“To call 'Operation Sindoor' a failure is to insult our country. Our forces struck Pakistan and eliminated numerous terrorist bases. Mocking such an operation is a disgrace to our nation,” he stated.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam criticized Raut, suggesting he had gone 'insane'.

“Today, as 'Operation Sindoor' is celebrated nationwide, with citizens praising our armed forces for eradicating terror bases in Pakistan, a Sena leader questions their valor. This kind of politics reflects a depraved and villainous mindset,” he said.

Notably, Raut’s comments came just a day after Home Minister Amit Shah remarked in Maharashtra that had the late Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray been alive, he would have embraced PM Modi for successfully orchestrating 'Operation Sindoor'.
