Kolkata, June 12 (NationPress) Shweta Khan, also known as Fultusi, has been apprehended by the West Bengal Police on Wednesday, marking a significant development in the notorious West Bengal porn racket case.
Earlier that day, law enforcement officials took into custody her son Aryan Khan, followed by her daughter Zoya Khan, who is also implicated in the ongoing investigation.
According to police sources, the information obtained from Aryan and Zoya led to the discovery of Shweta's location, resulting in her arrest late Wednesday evening at a concealed location in the Alipore area of south Kolkata.
The trio faces serious allegations, including the detention of a woman from the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal for six months and subjecting her to severe physical abuse with an iron rod after she declined to partake in pornographic video productions allegedly run by them.
Notably, since Zoya is a minor, her case will be processed under the Juvenile Justice Act and will be referred to the Juvenile Justice Board.
In the meantime, Aryan has refuted his connection to the pornographic activities, claiming he had a personal relationship with the victim, who allegedly wished to marry him.
The police's response has escalated following the National Commission for Women (NCW) taking suo motu cognizance of the case and reaching out to West Bengal DGP Rajeev Kumar, demanding immediate actions in line with the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
