Telangana Establishes Advisory Committee for Development Planning Society

Hyderabad, Feb 18 (NationPress) The Telangana government has formed an advisory committee consisting of nine members for the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS).
Chairing the committee is Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for the Planning Department, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
Prof Kancha Ilaiah, a Dalit writer and activist, Prof Shantha Sinha, known for her work against child labor, former UGC chairman Dr Sukhdeo Thorat, social activist Nikhil Dey, along with Prof Humanshu, Prof Bhukya, Prof Purushotham Reddy, and Praveen Chakravarthy have been appointed as members of this advisory committee.
A Government Order (GO) has been issued regarding this development. The Chief Executive Officer of TGDPS will serve as the secretary of the committee.
The order highlights that the TGDPS was created to achieve multiple objectives, including the preparation of disaster mitigation plans, analysis of climate change impacts, conducting gap and growth analyses, and executing pilot projects and research in the economic and social sectors of the state.
“A key goal is to perform gap and growth analysis of the State’s Economic and Social Sectors, as well as conduct modeling, projections, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance monitoring to bolster both short-term and long-term planning in the State,” the order states. This advisory committee has been established to fulfill this aim.
The GO specifies that the committee chair may invite subject matter experts to meetings as needed.
Funding for the advisory committee's expenses will be drawn from TGDPS's resources.
According to the GO issued by Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Principal Secretary to Government, the Chief Executive Officer of TGDPS will proceed with the necessary actions.
The first meeting of the advisory committee took place at the Secretariat on Tuesday, presided over by Deputy Chief Minister and chairman Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
In a separate note, the state government received 1,704 applications during the Prajavani program at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan on Tuesday, with 1,304 of these applications pertaining to housing allocations under the Indiramma scheme.
