The Godavari River was swollen in the town of Basar within the Nirmal district on Thursday, continuing to receive significant inflows from upstream.

Water overflowed onto the road linking the Saraswati temple to the Godavari Pushkar Ghat. Authorities have set up barricades to restrict pilgrims from accessing the road.

The Godavari River also experienced high water levels at Kandakurthy Triveni Sangam in the Nizamabad district, with flood inflows rising in both the Godavari and Manjeera rivers.

A bridge connecting Telangana and Maharashtra was submerged, halting vehicular traffic.

In the Nizamabad district, the Sriram Sagar project saw large inflows, receiving 2.85 lakh cusecs while authorities discharged 3.56 lakh cusecs downstream.
