Hyderabad, Jan 15 (NationPress) Telangana's Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications and Industries & Commerce D. Sridhar Babu on Wednesday requested the Centre’s assistance in fostering the growth of the semiconductor sector within the state.

The Telangana Minister convened with Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi. Sridhar Babu praised Ashwini Vaishnaw for the impressive strides made by the India Semiconductor Mission.

He emphasized Telangana's noteworthy contributions to India's semiconductor landscape and sought support to enhance the state’s involvement in the national semiconductor agenda.

“We also addressed the necessity for a National Disaster Recovery Zone for data centers in Telangana, which would guarantee business continuity and data protection,” he remarked.

Sridhar Babu updated the Union Minister on the advancements in Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security initiatives in Telangana and extended an invitation to the Bio Asia Summit scheduled for February 24 in Hyderabad.

“I look forward to ongoing collaboration and assistance in propelling India’s semiconductor expansion and fortifying Telangana's position within the ecosystem,” the state Minister expressed.

He also conferred with Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, urging the development of the Kaleshwara Mukteshwara Swamy Temple and Ramagiri Fort as premier spiritual and eco-tourism destinations.

“These historical sites possess significant cultural and historical value, drawing millions of pilgrims and tourists. Let’s reveal the hidden treasures of Telangana and present our rich heritage to the world to instill pride in India,” Sridhar Babu stated.

In another development, a Telangana delegation visited Queensland to examine sports infrastructure.

Under the guidance of Jitender Reddy, Telangana’s Special Representative in New Delhi and advisor on sports matters, the delegation explored various key sites in Queensland to study sports infrastructure and training facilities, aiming to adopt best practices in Telangana.

The delegation included IAS officer Jayesh Ranjan, IFS officer Soni Bala Devi, among others. The group received an official welcome in Queensland from Trade and Investment Queensland, where they connected with senior government stakeholders, discussing Queensland's sports capabilities and overarching industry objectives. The delegation met with representatives from Populous, a global leader in architectural design for sports venues, arenas, and convention centers.

This meeting provided valuable insights into contemporary trends and standards in sports facility design and management, which could inform the development of Telangana’s sports infrastructure.
