Hyderabad, April 14 (NationPress) Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated on Monday that the welfare initiatives of the Telangana government for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and minorities are profoundly influenced by the principles of Dr B. R. Ambedkar.
While honoring Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, Revanth Reddy remarked that the people's government is executing transformative welfare programs inspired by Ambedkar’s vision. This includes significant actions such as increasing quotas for backward classes and reclassifying Scheduled Castes.
The Chief Minister emphasized the administration’s commitment to offering top-notch education via Ambedkar Knowledge Centres and Young India Residential Schools, along with fostering self-employment opportunities for marginalized groups through the Rajiv Yuva Shakti Scheme.
“Telangana aims to lead in the upliftment of Dalits,” he declared, adding, “Ambedkar’s unwavering pursuit of social justice and women's empowerment continues to influence the globe.”
Revanth Reddy attributed the possibility of Telangana’s formation to Ambedkar’s Constitution, describing it as a standard for public governance. “Ambedkar foresaw the nation's future with remarkable insight. Previously, the Chief Minister adorned Ambedkar’s statue at Tank Bund, located in the city’s core. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Damodar Raja Narasimha also paid respects to the Constitution's architect.
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma also honored Ambedkar. “I offer my sincere homage to one of India’s illustrious figures, who was crucial in crafting our Constitution. A passionate social reformer and distinguished lawyer, Dr Ambedkar dedicated his life to justice, equality, and empowering the marginalized,” he conveyed in his message.
