Hyderabad, Feb 4 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, made a heartfelt appeal on Wednesday for citizens to cast their votes in favor of the ruling Congress party during the upcoming municipal elections. His aim is to maintain and enhance the welfare and development initiatives currently in place across the state.

At the launch of the party's campaign for the February 11 municipal elections in Miryalguda, located in Nalgonda district, he assured that the Congress party would evolve municipalities into exemplary development hubs.

He highlighted various welfare programs executed by the Congress government over the past two years, asserting that their victory would symbolize a triumph for the underprivileged.

With a confident outlook, he stated that the Congress party is poised to remain in power for an additional eight years, believing that its flag will be prominently displayed across all 123 urban local bodies participating in the elections.

Reddy urged voters to consider the numerous initiatives such as fine rice distribution, ration cards, Rythu Bharosa, loan waivers, complimentary bus travel for women, the creation of 70,000 government jobs, and Indiramma houses before making their electoral decisions.

“Your responsibility is to ensure the success of this government,” he emphasized.

He elaborated that his administration has introduced various development and welfare programs aimed at supporting the poor, tribals, unemployed youth, women, and minorities.

Reddy remarked that following the establishment of Telangana, the previous administration failed to issue ration cards. However, he noted that once the 'people's government' assumed power, it promptly distributed ration cards to millions.

“The coarse rice provided by the former government was only suitable for livestock. We are supplying fine rice to 3.1 crore people. Every individual enjoying this quality rice should vote for the Congress party,” he stated.

He mentioned that the government offers 200 units of free electricity to every household while also providing complimentary electricity for agricultural purposes.

“Through Rythu Bharosa, we are granting farmers 6,000 rupees for each acre. In just nine days, we have allocated 9,000 crores to farmers,” he added, indicating that the next payment under this scheme will be distributed post-municipal elections.

He asserted that the government has invested over one lakh crores for farmers to date.

“We have made bus travel free for women with RTC. If the women who have benefited from this free travel cast their votes for Congress, neither BJP nor BRS will recover their deposits,” he quipped.

Reddy criticized former Chief Minister KCR for enticing citizens with promises of double-bedroom homes.

“He served as Chief Minister for a decade but prioritized personal projects like his farmhouse and Pragathi Bhavan instead of focusing on housing for the needy,” he stated.

The Chief Minister mentioned that since the 'people's government' took charge, 4.50 lakh Indiramma houses have been approved.

“We are directly depositing funds into the beneficiaries' accounts, eliminating any middlemen or fraudulent activities. Every MLA is requesting us to approve additional Indiramma houses, and we plan to allocate more in the upcoming budget,” he remarked.

He accused the previous BRS administration of exploiting the populace and also criticized them for alleged phone tapping.

Reddy asserted that the phones of political opponents, journalists, celebrities, and even judges were subjected to surveillance.

“Would any respectable person eavesdrop on a private conversation between spouses? Some are questioning whether they will investigate the 'father of the nation',” he jabbed at BRS leaders who refer to KCR as the father of Telangana.

He challenged KCR, questioning if he truly is the father of Telangana, would he surrender the wealth accumulated by him and his family back to the people?

“Will you relinquish KTR's Janwada farmhouse, KCR's Erravalli farmhouse, Harish Rao's Moinabad farmhouse, televisions, newspapers, and countless crores to the citizens of Telangana?” he queried.
