Bhopal, June 18 (NationPress) In a deeply distressing event, a 23-year-old B.Tech student reportedly took his own life in Bhopal, according to police reports released on Wednesday.
The authorities found the body, hanging from a ceiling fan, in his rented accommodation located in the Patel Nagar vicinity under the jurisdiction of the Piplani police station.
The victim has been recognized as Mudit Pateria, originally from Panna district. He was in his second year of B.Tech at a private engineering institution situated in Bhopal.
This tragic incident came into the public eye when his two roommates returned from shopping late on Tuesday. After multiple attempts to reach him through knocking and phone calls went unanswered, the roommates alerted the landlord.
When the roommates and the landlord finally forced the door open, they discovered Mudit suspended from the ceiling fan. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Upon receiving the report, the Piplani police arrived at the scene late Tuesday and commenced an investigation into the case.
No suicide note was located at the crime scene, as mentioned by the police.
Mudit's parents, residing in Panna, approximately 400 km from Bhopal, reached the city early Wednesday, and his body was sent for a post-mortem examination at Hamidia Hospital.
Authorities stated that following the autopsy, the body was returned to the family for final rites, while further investigations are in progress.
A mobile phone belonging to the deceased was found at the scene and has been forwarded to the forensic team for examination. Roommates and friends are currently being questioned, reported Chandrika Yadav, the in-charge of Piplani police station.
