Trinamool Congress Official Found Dead in Hotel at Mandarmani, Bengal

Kolkata, Dec 21 (NationPress) A Trinamool Congress official was discovered deceased in a hotel at the Mandarmani seaside resort in West Bengal's East Midnapore district on Saturday morning, causing unrest in the vicinity.
The police have apprehended a woman who accompanied the deceased official, identified as Abul Nasar, aged 34, a prominent figure in the Amdanga area of North 24 Parganas district, for questioning.
The determination of whether the death resulted from suicide or foul play will depend on the findings of the post-mortem examination, a police spokesperson stated.
However, since the deceased's spouse, who serves as a deputy panchayat chief for the Trinamool party, has accused that it is a case of murder, the Mandarmani Coastal Police Station has initiated an investigation.
It has been reported that a hotel employee discovered the hanging body of the Trinamool official in his room on Saturday morning. At that time, there were no other individuals present in the room, and the woman who accompanied him was also absent.
The hotel management promptly notified local authorities, who arrived at the scene, retrieved the body, and arranged for a post-mortem examination.
The woman who was with Abul Nasar has since been taken into custody for questioning at the local police station.
The police have launched an unnatural death case concerning the incident. "Initially, it appears to be a case of suicide. However, we will confirm this only after the autopsy results are released," a district police official commented.
Despite the circumstances, local Trinamool leadership has dismissed any political implications surrounding the death. They have stated that Abul Nasar was actively involved in local politics, and his passing is a significant loss for the party's local organization.
