Agartala, Feb 4 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, emphasized the importance of integrating ethical values into education, urging students to prioritize moral principles alongside their studies for the betterment of society and the nation.
While inaugurating the new two-storey building at the P.M.-SHRI Hajibari Class XII School in the Fatikroy Assembly constituency, Saha stated, “Only when education is guided by values can students develop into responsible and humane citizens.”
During this event, he also laid the foundation stone for a new bridge that will connect Saidarpar and Sardapalli over the Manu River, which will be constructed at a cost of Rs 1.26 crore. Additionally, he inaugurated the Sixth Milan Mela-2026 on the school grounds.
Saha noted that the bridge will serve approximately 6,000 to 7,000 people, especially benefiting farmers by facilitating easier transportation of their produce to the Kumarghat market.
“The bridge will also improve access to the Kumarghat Railway Station, significantly enhancing local connectivity,” he added.
Discussing advancements in women’s safety, the Chief Minister mentioned a notable decline in crime rates in Tripura, allowing women to move freely, even at night. “This is real development,” Saha remarked.
He further highlighted the state government’s efforts to incorporate technology into education, launching initiatives like Personalized Adaptive Learning (PAL) to enhance accessibility and focus on student needs under the National Education Policy.
“Education is a journey from darkness to light. We aim for healthy competition among schools. Tripura has made significant strides in higher education infrastructure with both government and private universities,” he stated.
He also mentioned increased seating in medical colleges, the establishment of a new medical college in Ambassa, and the creation of a Forensic University and a Law University, reducing the necessity for students to seek higher education outside the state.
“While modernizing the education system, we are dedicated to instilling moral values in students,” he concluded.
The Chief Minister was joined by various officials, including Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, Unakoti Zila Parishad President Amalendu Das, District Magistrate Tamal Majumdar, Superintendent of Police Sudambika R., and others.
