Tripura Government Considering Establishing a Women's University: Chief Minister Saha

Agartala, Dec 10 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, stated on Tuesday that the state government is contemplating the creation of a university exclusively for women within the state.
During an event at the Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT), Chief Minister Saha mentioned ongoing discussions regarding the establishment of a women’s university in the region.
He noted, "With goodwill and effective planning, this can be accomplished. Furthermore, we must stay alert in the battle against drugs," he emphasized.
As the holder of the Education portfolio, CM Saha remarked that TIT is a significant institution in the domain of technical education in the state.
He elaborated that Tripura is progressively making strides in the education sector, with the state government prioritizing the development and expansion of educational infrastructure.
CM Saha participated in a blood donation camp and inaugurated a newly built auditorium at the TIT located in Narsingarh, just outside the capital.
The Chief Minister expressed the government’s commitment to constructing auditoriums in every educational institution.
"The connection between students and teachers is deep. As a teacher in a medical college, I recognize the importance of this bond. The traditions shared between educators and students are vital for any educational institution," stated CM Saha, who is a seasoned dental surgeon turned politician.
He mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi frequently underscores that the future belongs to the knowledgeable and often engages with students from various educational levels on national subjects, valuing their opinions.
The Prime Minister has introduced numerous initiatives aimed at empowering the youth.
Regarding the 19 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state, CM Saha pointed out that many of them are in poor condition.
He announced, "To remedy this situation, we have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Technologies to modernize these institutes. Tata Technologies is set to invest nearly Rs 700 crore, with additional contributions from the state government."
CM Saha concluded that this partnership will initiate infrastructure upgrades shortly, with a specified timeline, enhancing the employability of ITI graduates through superior training.
