Hyderabad, May 11 (NationPress) Over 73 percent of candidates who sat for the TS EAMCET 2020 examination in the engineering stream have successfully qualified, while an impressive 87 percent of those who appeared for the agriculture and pharmacy streams have passed.
On Sunday, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced the results for the Telangana State Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET).
Out of 2,07,190 students aiming for engineering course admissions, 1,51,779 have qualified, resulting in a pass percentage of 73.26.
For the agriculture and pharmacy streams, 81,198 candidates took the exam, with 71,309 qualifying, leading to a pass percentage of 87.82.
In both streams, girls excelled over boys. The pass percentage for girls in engineering was 73.88, compared to 72.79 for boys.
In the agriculture and pharmacy fields, girls achieved a pass percentage of 88.32, while boys reached 86.29.
Despite this, boys dominated the top ranks. All top 10 rankers in engineering were boys, while only one girl made it to the top 10 in agriculture and pharmacy.
Students from both Telangana and neighboring Andhra Pradesh participated in the exams for professional courses in engineering, agriculture, and pharmacy.
Two of the top three ranks in engineering were achieved by students from Andhra Pradesh, whereas all top 10 ranks in agriculture and pharmacy were secured by students from Telangana.
Palle Bharath Chandra from Parvathipuram Manyam, Andhra Pradesh, topped the engineering exam with 150.05 marks, while Saketh Reddy Peddakkagari from Medchal Malkajgiri, Telangana, led in the agriculture stream with 141.68 marks.
Udagandla Rama Charan Reddy from Rangareddy, Telangana, and Pammina Hema Sai Surya Karthik from Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, followed as second and third in engineering, respectively.
Sabbani Lalith Varenya from Karimnagar and Chada Akshith from Warangal achieved second and third ranks in the agriculture stream.
The agriculture and pharmacy exams took place on April 29 and 30, while the engineering exams were conducted from May 2 to May 4.
