Chandigarh, Feb 7 (NationPress) The Minister of State (MoS) for Statistics and Programme Implementation, Rao Inderjit Singh, articulated on Saturday that the Union Budget serves as a mirror to the aspirations of the nation. He emphasized that this budget is not simply a compilation of promises but rather a manifesto of responsibilities, a clear vision, and unwavering determination.
He stated that this Budget embodies the commitment of the Union government to fulfill its obligations towards every individual.
While speaking to the media in Gurugram, MoS Rao highlighted that the Budget outlines a distinct pathway for empowering all segments of society.
"This is not merely a budget filled with announcements, but a vision that creates opportunities, provides encouragement, and extends support at the grassroots level, enabling the citizens of our country to progress steadily," he remarked.
According to MoS Rao, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the budget strongly reflects the vision of advancing both heritage and development concurrently.
"By addressing various sectors including manufacturing, infrastructure, health, education, tourism, rural development, artificial intelligence, and sports, this budget represents a significant stride towards achieving Viksit Bharat."
The MoS pointed out that the Central government has witnessed a historic surge in infrastructure investment over the past decade.
He mentioned that the allocation for road transport and highways has escalated from Rs 31,302 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 309,875 crore in 2026-27.
In the same vein, the Railway budget has expanded from Rs 26,000 crore to Rs 281,377 crore, housing and urban affairs from Rs 1,486 crore to Rs 85,822 crore, and the energy sector from Rs 10,000 crore to Rs 29,997 crore.
"These statistics clearly demonstrate that the Union government is consistently investing to position infrastructure as the backbone of the economy," asserted MoS Rao.
Discussing the manufacturing sector, he noted that compared to 2013-14, the current Budget has provided a new trajectory for manufacturing.
"The establishment of a Rs 10,000 crore SME Growth Fund for MSMEs, Rs 40,000 crore for the expansion of electronics manufacturing, and Rs 10,000 crore investment under the BioPharma Shakti Scheme stand as testaments to this effort," he elaborated.
Additionally, initiatives related to textiles, container manufacturing, and high-tech tool rooms will bolster India's ambition to become a global manufacturing powerhouse.
