Upholding the Integrity of the Assembly: Bihar Speaker's Warning

Patna, Nov 28 (NationPress) The Bihar Assembly was engulfed in chaos on Thursday as RJD MLAs, including Bhai Virendra, moved close to the Chief Minister's chair.
This event triggered a firm response from Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav, who issued a serious warning regarding the repercussions of such conduct. He denounced the actions as intolerable and stressed the importance of preserving the dignity of the House.
The incident also drew strong rebuke from various leaders, including Minority Welfare Minister Jama Khan, who labeled the behavior as "hooliganism" and expressed his belief that the citizens of Bihar would hold the accountable parties responsible in the upcoming 2025 elections.
Khan highlighted that such conduct tarnishes the reputation of the legislative process and is inconsistent with the expected decorum within the Assembly.
RJD MLA Bhai Virendra clarified that neither he nor his fellow MLAs occupied the Chief Minister's seat but approached it to address concerns regarding the seating arrangements.
According to Bhai Virendra, their actions were a protest against the violation of established seating protocols in the House, specifically pointing out that some rebel MLAs from the RJD, Congress, and others such as Chetan Anand, Prahlad Yadav, Sangeeta Kumari, Murari Gautam, and Neelam Devi were improperly seated on the ruling side. He asserted that they were illegally occupying those positions.
The controversy began when RJD's Alok Mehta raised a query about the absence of MLAs in their designated seats, urging the Speaker to take action against those breaching protocol.
This prompted Bhai Virendra and others to gather near the Chief Minister's seat to underscore the necessity of adhering to seating guidelines.
He remarked, "If others don’t sit in their allocated places, we might also go and occupy ministers' seats."
The incident ignited a vigorous debate, with JDU MLA Sanjeev Kumar deeming it an unprecedented and regrettable occurrence for the Assembly.
Correspondingly, RJD MLA Mukesh Roshan expressed that the BJP and others have long sought power and voiced concerns regarding the persistent disregard for the Assembly's decorum.
