Patna, March 9 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, launched an aggressive critique against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday, accusing him of undermining the reservation rights of Dalits, backward, and extremely backward classes.

Tejashwi Yadav asserted that the BJP-Nitish government is misleading marginalized communities regarding reservation policies.

He pointed out that the present teacher recruitment initiative was set in motion during the tenure of the Mahagathbandhan government.

The RJD leader charged Nitish Kumar with failing to implement the promised enhancement of reservation for backward communities. Together with RJD officials, he participated in a dharna against what they refer to as job fraud and the anti-reservation stance of the Nitish Kumar government.

He condemned Nitish Kumar for ridiculing his commitment to provide 10 lakh government jobs during the 2020 Assembly elections while now personally distributing appointment letters.

Tejashwi Yadav accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the NDA government of denying numerous backward and Dalit candidates their rightful opportunities in Bihar’s recent teacher recruitment endeavor.

“Had the 65 per cent reservation policy been enforced, Dalits and backward classes would have gained an additional 8,000 jobs in the hiring of 51,389 teachers who received their appointment letters on Sunday,” Yadav emphasized.

“The Bihar CM remains silent on increasing reservations despite the caste-based survey conducted under the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) government in 2023. The entire NDA government, including Nitish Kumar, stands against reservation, urging citizens to unite against them in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections,” Yadav stated.

The RJD organized a protest on Sunday, advocating for the implementation of a higher reservation policy based on the caste survey from 2023.

Tejashwi Yadav reaffirmed that the RJD will persist in advocating for enhanced reservations for Dalits, backward, and extremely backward communities.

With Bihar approaching significant elections, the reservation issue is becoming a pivotal political arena, with Tejashwi Yadav positioning it as a central campaign focus against Nitish Kumar and the NDA government.
