Indore, Dec 11 (NationPress) Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday took aim at senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh, asserting that the Maoist presence, which thrived under previous Congress administrations in Madhya Pradesh, is nearly eradicated now.
While addressing journalists at Indore Airport, Yadav remarked that Congress has consistently adopted a confused stance regarding the Maoist issue, highlighting that some of its members expressed sympathy when security forces took down notorious Maoists like Madvi Hidma.
“Numerous districts within the state are on the brink of being declared Naxal-free, marking a national achievement that will pave the way for consistent development in areas afflicted by this menace,” he stated.
He recalled the murder of former Congress member Lakhiram Kaware by Maoists in Balaghat back in 1999, during the tenure of the Digvijaya Singh
“Previously, a Congress leader met his end at the hands of Maoists in Balaghat district, and the then Congress CM bears responsibility,” Yadav asserted.
Without directly naming Digvijaya Singh, he added, “Now, as security forces eliminate Maoists, those Congress leaders are questioning the BJP. Congress has always shown a double standard on Naxalism.”
