Itanagar, Jan 27 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, emphasized on Monday that government employment opportunities are finite, and not everyone can be accommodated in such roles. He encouraged the youth to become self-reliant and transform into job creators instead of merely seeking employment.

While participating in the Hiyom Banggo Unying Giidi festival in the Siang district, the Chief Minister urged young individuals to leverage programs like the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) and the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Swavlamban Yojna to initiate their own ventures.

Highlighting the agricultural and horticultural prospects of the region, Khandu announced that the state government would soon establish a fruit farm to assist local farmers by enhancing the value of their harvests and providing market access.

The Chief Minister acknowledged the longstanding underdevelopment of the Rumgong region within the Siang district and promised that the state government would make every effort to bridge this developmental gap.

Khandu identified road connectivity as a primary concern and assured that all unconnected villages within the assembly segment would gain connectivity in the coming years.

To initiate improvements, he revealed that four roads are proposed under PMGSY-IV in Payum Circle, which would significantly enhance connectivity in the area.

According to the Chief Minister, the proposed roads, including those from the Border Road Organisation, would greatly improve the region’s road network.

As a festival present, Khandu declared the approval of projects worth Rs 66 crore for the area, encompassing numerous roads, two circuit houses, a school building, government quarters for a higher secondary school, and an ADC Office building in Rumgong.

He stated that the state budget for 2025-26 would be presented in March and assured that proposals from the ‘Guardian Minister’ and ‘Mentor Secretary’ of the district, in collaboration with local legislators and district administration, would be favorably considered.

Khandu mentioned that upon completion of the Trans-Arunachal Highway stretch from Kaying to Mechuka, the Rumgong assembly segment would be well connected with the rest of Arunachal Pradesh.

Moreover, he informed that the ambitious 2500 km Frontier Highway project would significantly boost tourism and agricultural-horticultural production in the upper regions of Arunachal Pradesh.

Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao accompanied Khandu at the festival.
