New Delhi, May 2 (NationPress) The International Day of Yoga (IDY) is evolving into a formidable global initiative that brings humanity together, stated Prataprao Jadhav, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Ayush, on Friday.
During a magnificent Yoga Mahotsav held in Nashik, Maharashtra, organized by the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) under the Ministry of Ayush, over 6,000 yoga enthusiasts gathered to celebrate the 50-day countdown to IDY 2025.
“Yoga is the cornerstone of existence for millions worldwide. To ensure its advantages reach every individual, the International Day of Yoga 2025 will be celebrated as a decade-long global festival,” Jadhav emphasized.
He also introduced the Yoga Sangam Portal—a digital platform designed for online registration to facilitate a synchronized nationwide celebration of IDY 2025 on June 21 across more than 100,000 locations in India.
The Minister assured that the Government is committed to making IDY a resounding success.
“Yoga Sangam represents global unity for health, and through such initiatives, the International Day of Yoga is transforming into a powerful global movement that brings humanity together, promoting yoga and beyond,” Jadhav remarked.
Yoga Sangam is one of the ten signature events of IDY 2025, an innovative initiative aimed at enhancing decentralized yet synchronized mass yoga performances at 100,000 venues throughout India.
This event will create a harmonious tapestry of well-being across the nation, with hundreds of thousands coming together under the protective umbrella of yoga. The vast participation is expected to generate a significant ripple of positive energy throughout the country, as noted by the Minister of State.
Previously, the MDNIY and the Ministry of Ayush hosted a Yoga Mahotsav in New Delhi and Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
