Allu Arjun Pledges Rs 25 Lakh to Support Family of Woman Who Passed Away in Stampede

Hyderabad, Dec 6 (NationPress) Just two days following the unfortunate passing of a woman and the critical injury of her son at a theatre during the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, actor Allu Arjun expressed that he is deeply heartbroken and declared an aid of Rs 25 lakh for the family.

The actor reassured the mourning family that he would personally meet them and provide all necessary support.

Allu Arjun also committed to covering the medical expenses for the boy, whose condition remains critical.

Taking to X, he voiced his feelings regarding the tragedy that unfolded at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on the night of December 4.

"Deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. I want to assure them they are not alone in this pain and will meet the family personally. While respecting their need for space to grieve, I stand committed to extend every possible assistance to help them navigate through this challenging journey," Allu Arjun stated.

In a video message delivered in Telugu, he shared that the entire film crew was in shock over the incident. He announced the Rs 25 lakh assistance as a gesture of goodwill to help secure the family’s future.

He emphasized that films are made for audiences to enjoy in theatres and urged everyone to exercise caution.

On Thursday, Hyderabad Police filed a case against actor Allu Arjun, his security personnel, and the management of Sandhya Theatre.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Zone) Akshansh Yadav mentioned that a case was registered following a complaint from the husband of the deceased woman.

The case was filed under sections 105 (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 118(1) (Voluntarily causing hurt) r/w 3(5) BNS.

The DCP informed the media that there had been no prior communication from the theatre management or the actor’s team regarding their visit to the theatre.

The theatre management also failed to implement additional safety measures to control the crowd.

According to police reports, a woman named Revathi (35) and her son Sri Tej (13) experienced suffocation due to the overwhelming number of attendees. Fortunately, police officers on duty rescued them from the lower balcony, administered CPR on her son, and quickly transported them to Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital.

Medical staff at Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital reported that the woman had passed away, and her son Sri Tej was recommended for transfer to another facility for advanced care.
