New Delhi, March 6 (NationPress) Rajasthan's Anuj Agnihotri has emerged as the top scorer in the Civil Services Examination 2025, with Tamil Nadu's Rajeshwari Suve M achieving the second spot. A total of 958 candidates qualified for prestigious roles in the IAS (Indian Administrative Service), IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IPS (Indian Police Service), and other services, as confirmed by an official announcement on Friday.
Rajeshwari has distinguished herself as the highest-ranking female candidate in CSE 2025, alongside two other women who made it to the top 10.
Agnihotri hails from Chittorgarh district in Rajasthan and holds an MBBS degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Jodhpur. He completed his higher secondary education at M.B. Public Senior Secondary School located in Kota, according to information released by a civil services coaching institute.
Rajeshwari had previously topped the TMPSC Group 1 (Deputy Collector) examination before securing her current position.
Following them, the third highest scorer is Akansh Dhull from Chandigarh, who comes from a political family.
This year’s CSE saw a total of 958 successful candidates, including 317 from the general category, 104 from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), 306 from Other Backward Classes (OBC), and 73 from the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category. The final results were based on the written examination conducted in August 2025 and the personality tests held between December 2025 and February 2026.
The government has reported a total of 1,087 vacancies for these services, as stated in the official release.
Appointments to various roles will be made in accordance with the number of available vacancies, while adhering to the rules set forth for the examination. This total includes 180 IAS, 55 IFS, 150 IPS, 507 Central Services Group ‘A’, and 195 Group ‘B’ positions.
Among these vacancies, 42 are reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities.
Consistent with Rule 20 (4) & (5) of the Civil Services Examination Rules 2025, the Commission has established a consolidated Reserve List of 256 candidates. Additionally, the candidature of 348 recommended candidates remains provisional, while the results of two candidates have been withheld, according to the statement.
