Patna, Dec 19 (NationPress) BJP MLA Maithili Thakur stated on Friday that her focus is on development initiatives rather than engaging in political disputes, as she cautiously addressed inquiries regarding recent matters concerning Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
In response to a question about a viral video reportedly showing the Chief Minister removing a woman's hijab, Thakur remarked that only Nitish Kumar or the woman involved could provide an accurate account of the incident.
“I was not present at the scene. It would be imprudent to form a judgment solely based on a video viewed on a mobile device,” she articulated, opting not to comment on the situation.
Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is at the center of controversy after claims emerged that he removed the hijab of a Muslim woman doctor during a letter distribution ceremony for Ayush doctors in Patna on December 15.
During this event, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Health Minister Mangal Pandey were also in attendance.
Discussing her aspirations for her constituency, Thakur expressed her vision of renaming Alinagar to Sitanagar.
According to her, Sitanagar would be a community where residents experience happiness, and their issues are addressed swiftly.
“Enhancing healthcare services and renovating educational facilities will be my primary objectives over the next five years,” she mentioned.
The MLA also committed to strongly advocating for an Art Centre in her constituency during the next budget session.
She emphasized that the area lacks a dedicated venue to cultivate art among the youth and is determined to rectify this deficiency.
Proud of Bihar's leaders taking on national responsibilities, Thakur noted that figures like Nitin Nabin being given significant roles is a source of pride for the state.
When questioned about the influence of politics on her artistic journey, Maithili Thakur asserted that her entry into public life has fueled her passion for learning and furthering her comprehension of culture and her party’s principles.
She reassured constituents that she would dedicate herself tirelessly to meet the trust and expectations placed in her.
