Kolkata, July 13 (NationPress) East Bengal FC has successfully acquired the talent of Indian national team winger Bipin Singh Thounaojam on a two-year contract, with an option for an additional year.
Bipin transitions to the Red & Gold Brigade on a free transfer from Mumbai City FC, where he played for seven seasons and clinched two Indian Super League (ISL) Shields and two ISL Cups. He will don the jersey number 29.
Renowned for his speed, versatility in attack, and precise finishing, Bipin holds the record for the most appearances for Mumbai City FC (158) and stands as their second-highest all-time scorer with 28 goals and 17 assists. He notably scored in two ISL finals – in 2021 and 2024.

A veteran in the ISL, Bipin has participated in 141 ISL matches, netting 27 goals and contributing 12 assists. In the ISL 2024-25 season, he made 21 appearances and scored one goal.
The winger from Manipur began his senior career with Shillong Lajong FC in 2012, later moving to ATK in 2017, and then joining Mumbai City FC in 2018.
Bipin made his debut for the India national team on March 25, 2021, in a 1-1 draw against Oman. He was also part of the Blue Tigers squad that secured the Tri-Nation Series in 2023.
