Bengaluru, Nov 11 (NationPress) The BJP will never serve biryani to terrorists, and the Central government is committed to accepting accountability while also showcasing its ability to confront threats, asserted BJP's former national general secretary and MLC C.T. Ravi in response to criticisms regarding the Delhi blasts.
During a media interaction in Bengaluru on Monday, Ravi emphasized that prior to 2014, bomb blasts were a frequent occurrence across India, but such incidents have significantly reduced in recent years. “Now, it appears that terrorists are attempting to resurge,” he warned, highlighting reports of plots involving chemical weapons for mass attacks.
He pointed out that even doctors and engineers are becoming entangled in these networks, indicating a “deeply troubling evolution.”
Ravi insisted on the necessity to investigate the origins of terrorism, raising critical questions: “Who is training them? Who is financing them? What motivates them?”
He urged authorities to view the recent incident not as an isolated event but part of a broader trend that poses a threat to national security. “Such acts endanger humanity and must be addressed with utmost seriousness,” he stated.
Additionally, Ravi criticized the Karnataka government, alleging that terrorists were obtaining mobile phones within prisons.
“From within the prison walls, they can orchestrate conspiracies. It might become increasingly challenging to prove such crimes in court,” he remarked, labeling the situation as a “dangerous policy failure.”
He accused the government of being complacent. “If jails are transforming into havens where inmates possess phones, the government must take responsibility,” he added.
In response to Congress leader Priyank Kharge’s claim that the Union Home Minister had failed, Ravi asserted that some individuals with “malicious intent” cannot be reasoned with.
“Priyank Kharge is certainly one of them,” he noted, recalling that bomb blasts were rampant during the UPA government's era in Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Mumbai.
Ravi maintained that under the BJP government, there is a policy of “zero tolerance for terrorism.” He referenced the Pahalgam operation and the surgical strike following the Pulwama attack as examples of India’s decisive actions under the current administration.
biryani to the terrorists. The BJP will never engage in such practices,” he declared.
Addressing inquiries regarding the Prime Minister’s whereabouts during the blast, Ravi referred to an alleged statement from former Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram, indicating that the then Prime Minister had denied permission for a robust government response.
“Chidambaram made this revelation publicly. He is a senior Congress leader, not a BJP member,” Ravi asserted.
In responding to calls for the Centre to take responsibility, Ravi reiterated that the central government would accept accountability and also show its capability in dealing with threats.
Taking a jab at Priyank Kharge, Ravi remarked, “He believes he’s wiser than Sarvajna (the esteemed Kannada philosopher). If Sarvajna were alive today, Kharge would probably claim he was the one who gave birth to him.”
Ravi clarified that the BJP does not engage with the Taliban, stating that India’s relations are solely with the Afghan government. “The BJP has never associated with terrorists. We have had no dealings with them,” he concluded.
