New Delhi, Jan 23 (NationPress) In anticipation of the forthcoming Delhi Assembly elections, the Congress party introduced its latest campaign anthem, "Har Jarurat Hogi Puri, Dilli Mein Congress Hai Jaruri," during a press briefing on Thursday.
This song, designed as the party’s 'Delhi Congress Anthem,' aims to convey the party’s vision for the capital while criticizing both rival factions—the ruling AAP and the Opposition BJP.
The 2.48-minute anthem emphasizes the disenchantment of Delhi's citizens with the current AAP administration, accusing them of failing to fulfill their commitments.
Lyrics within the anthem shed light on urgent local challenges, such as the pollution in the Yamuna River and substandard drinking water.
"Yamuna Saaf Nahi, Pani Na Saaf Hai," the anthem boldly states, resonating with the public's concerns regarding the city’s infrastructure under AAP governance.
In addition to criticizing the AAP, the anthem highlights Congress's proposals for Delhi, which include commitments to free electricity for households (up to 300 units) and the Pyari Didi Yojana, aimed at providing Rs 2,500 monthly to women from low-income households. The anthem also addresses safety issues, asserting that despite AAP’s pledges, women in Delhi still feel insecure while the government prioritizes alcohol sales.
Delhi Congress Chief Devendra Yadav discussed with IANS that the anthem mirrors the increasing dissatisfaction among the residents of Delhi.
“Delhi is troubled, and the people’s expectations from the government have not been met. The Congress is the only party that can address the real issues of Delhi,” Yadav stated.
“This anthem is not just a song, but a reflection of the hopes we have for the future of Delhi.”
Congress national spokesman Pawan Khera also expressed his views, highlighting the vibrant spirit that the anthem conveys.
"These songs capture our promises and the enthusiasm of the Congress party. Our connection with the people is stronger than ever, and this anthem is a reflection of that enthusiasm," Khera stated.
The launch of the anthem follows the BJP's campaign song, titled "Jo Ram Ko Lekar Aaye Unka Raj Hoga Dilli Mein," coinciding with the first anniversary of the Ram Mandir's consecration in Ayodhya.
With the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 5, and results to be revealed on February 8, both Congress and BJP are bracing for an intense contest. Over 1.5 crore voters will participate in determining the future of the 70-member Delhi Assembly.
