Gurugram, Feb 10 (NationPress) The police in Gurugram have apprehended three individuals on charges of robbing a cab driver at gunpoint, seizing both his vehicle and mobile phone. This incident occurred when the victim had booked a cab in Gurugram.
The suspects have been named as Deepak, Rahul, and Suraj Kumar, all residents of Ashok Vihar Phase-3, Gurugram.
The robbery took place in the Ashok Vihar area on February 6, when the suspects reserved the victim's Rapido cab.
Following the incident, the victim lodged a complaint on February 7 at the Rajendra Park Police Station. According to his report, the suspects had booked the cab from Ashok Vihar Phase-3, Gurugram.
Upon arriving near Paras Society in Sector-106, Gurugram, the victim requested the suspects to exit the car.
“The suspects then used a rope to restrain him, attacked him, brandished a weapon, and fled with his vehicle, mobile phone, and other personal documents,” the police stated.
A case was subsequently filed at the Rajendra Park Police Station based on his complaint.
During the investigation, a team from the Sector-39 Crime Branch of the Gurugram police captured all three suspects on NH 48 close to Sector-15, Gurugram, on Sunday.
Upon reviewing the suspects' criminal records, it became evident that Suraj had a prior robbery case registered against him in Gurugram.
The police also managed to recover the victim's vehicle and phone from the suspects' possession.
“The suspects will be presented in court for further questioning and potential recovery. They will be placed in police custody. The investigation continues,” the authorities stated.
Additionally, Gurugram Police detained two criminals found with illegal firearms. They have been identified as Rahul from Farrukhnagar and Nikhil from Uttar Pradesh.
Authorities confiscated two illegal pistols and one live cartridge from these suspects, leading to a case being opened against them at the appropriate police stations.
