Jammu & Kashmir: Authorities Seize Property Linked to Terrorist Encounters in Kulgam

Srinagar, December 13 (NationPress) On Friday, the J&K Police executed a property seizure involving a single-storey dwelling and 10 Marlas of land that belonged to Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat in the Chenigam Frisal village of Kulgam district.
This property was confiscated under the supervision of an executive magistrate in accordance with section 25 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
The operation is linked to FIR number 53/2024 which was filed at the Yaripora police station. Four terrorists were killed during a confrontation with security forces at this site on July 6, 2024, where they had taken refuge,” the police stated, further indicating that additional measures would be taken against individuals who provide shelter to terrorists.
The J&K Police have initiated a robust campaign targeting terrorists, their over-ground workers (OGWs), and their supporters.
The Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha, has conducted high-level security review meetings, during which explicit directives were issued to security forces to dismantle the terror infrastructure.
Intelligence agencies suspect that following the successful and peaceful participation in the Lok Sabha and legislative assembly elections in J&K, those orchestrating terrorism from across the border grew restless and instructed terrorists to initiate assaults against the army, security personnel, police, and civilians.
On October 20, two terrorists engaged in indiscriminate gunfire within the workers' camp of an infrastructure company in the Gagangir region of Ganderbal district.
This assault resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, including six non-local civilian workers and a local physician.
One of the assailants involved in the Gagangir incident was neutralized by security forces during an encounter in the elevated areas of Dachigam National Park in Srinagar last month.
